BRENT NEWDICK TROPHY

Brent Newdick is a former Papamoa Athletic Club junior athlete who went on to become a representative decathlete.

He competed at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in 2006 (4th place), Delhi in 2010 (silver medallist) and Glasgow in 2014.  He also competed at the London Olympics in 2012.    

In the 2021/22 season, Papamoa Athletics decided to honour Brent by creating the new Brent Newdick Trophy.  The winner of this award is an athlete who has excelled in both track and field events during the season, with the trophy awarded at end of season prizegiving.

2021/2022 -  Paige Mennie.
2022/2023 - Alakris Coleman.
2023/2024 - Te Raiti Hamilton
