Our club is run by volunteers and you are expected to help
Email papamoaathleticclub@gmail.com if you would like to volunteer or would like to learn more about helping out.
How can I help on club nights?
We are a club run solely by volunteers. Parents are expected pitch in. Without your help we cannot operate club nights. Everyone has something to offer on a club night and getting involved can be such a rewarding experience and helps our tamariki enormously. The more parent help, the lighter the duties!
We need age group leaders
If you can help out as an lead an age group we would love to hear from you. Our awesome club co-ordinator will design a programme each week for you to follow and provide support throughout the season. Please contact one of our committee members at club night (they will be wearing a blue club t-shirt) or email papamoaathleticclub@gmail.com
We need coaches
If you have an interest in or specialize in a particular event, we would love to have you join us when you are available. If you are unable to attend every week, we can still pop you into the schedule and utilise your knowledge so please get in touch.
We need all other parents and caregivers to pitch in
If you haven’t signed up to be an age group leader or coach, there are plenty of jobs to do each week:
- Set up the equipment needed across the different events
- Support the coaches when needed during skills nights
- Pitch in to help measure, marshall and time the athletes on competition nights
- Participate in family fun events (the kids love to race the parents!)
- Man the BBQ for the popular sausage sizzle
- Pack up all equipment at the end of the night
Support for parents
We are planning to run some pre-seasn sessions for any parents wanting to gain basic knowledge of each of the athletics disciplines. We'd love to see you there! More info coming soon.
