How can I help on club nights?
We are a club run solely by volunteers. Parents are expected to stay to support their children and the coaches during club nights. Without your help we cannot operate club nights. Everyone has something to offer on a club night and getting involved can be such a rewarding experience and helps our tamariki enormously. The more parent help, the lighter the duties!
Who can particpate in our club nights?
Athletes aged between 3 and 14 years old can participate in our club nights each week.
For the next season (October 2025 - March 2026), each athlete will be placed in a group based on their age at 31 December 2025.

What can I expect during a club night?
This season we will run a programme which will alternate between:
- The Athletics New Zealand Run, Jump, Throw programme – this is designed to teach children athletics skills as a means to improving performance. These skills will build foundations for sprints, longer distances, long jump, high jump, shot put and discus
- Club Competition Nights where there will be an emphasis on skills and technique to prepare athletes for interclub competitions, practice the skills they have learnt and strive for end of season awards.
- We enjoy having fun and learning through active play. Papamoa Athletic Club support the Sports NZ and Athletics NZ 'Balance is Better' values and principles
What do the athletes wear on a club night?
At club night children need to wear a Pāpāmoa Athletic Club T-Shirt or Singlet.
These can be purchased at our shed on club nights.
You can wear your own plain black shorts with the club t-shirt.
