When we decided to run this years’ Mystery Lake AR at Mt.Potts station – in Canterbury high country we knew we are in for a gamble. I may go either way – it could be a stunning spring day with snow capped mountains or another weather bomb with snow, high winds and flooded rivers. What I relief when on the race day competitors gathered under clear skies and not a breath of wind.
This year’s entries sold out in 4 days and attracted field of well known names on multisport and adventure racing scene. Team Seagate /Nathan F., Sophie H., Chris F., Dougal A./  was the race favourite. Due to rogaining nature of the event competitors could make this as long or as short as they want.  From the feedback we got from competitors the course proved to be challenging for social as well as competitive teams as many teams were finishing with only few minutes left to the final cut off time.
