WELCOME TO THE HOME OF BASKETBALL IN SELWYN

MINIBALL 2024

YEAR 3 & 4 SCHOOLS COMPETITION

After a successful change to our Miniball competition last year, we are excited to continue with the 3v3 Miniball competition in keeping with advice from Canterbury Basketball Association and Basketball New Zealand. 3v3 is becoming a commonly accepted better pathway for youth basketball players to learn the game of basketball, to gain a greater enjoyment of the game and to receive more development opportunities. We believe this is going to be hugely beneficial for the children involved.

Entries are open to Miniball teams, however we would also like to be able to place individual players into teams if a school is unable to enter a team.  If you have a player or players who wish to play but do not have a team please contact me directly on [email protected].

Miniball is a great stepping stone competition for these kids to move on to Primary Comp.

We appreciate your understanding that no referee will get it right all the time and that all our referees will be working hard to improve their skills every week.
  • We follow all the basic rules of basketball, however this is about the players learning and development, so some allowances may be made, dependent on player and team ability.

We would also like to be able to place individual players into teams if a school is unable to enter a team.  If you have a player or players who wish to play but do not have a team please contact me directly.
