The board invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Taradale Intermediate School for 2027.   Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available from the school office.

Thursday July 30 - Invitations to Enrol delivered to contributing schools

Monday August 3 - Enrolments open

Monday August 24 to Thursday August 27 - Open Week (Book a tour)

Friday September 25 - Out of zones enrolments close

Thursday October 22 - Ballot held for out of zone enrolments (if required)

Tuesday December 1 and Wednesday December 2 - Visits for contributing school and other enrolled learners

Tuesday January 26 and Wednesday January 27 - Get Connected Days

Monday February 1 - Start of year

Enrolment Scheme — Priority Order

If there are more applications than places available, applications for enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority:

  • First priority must be given to any applicant who is accepted for enrolment in a special programme run by the school.
    (NOTE: At this time TIS is not running any special programmes)

  • Second priority must be given to any applicant who is the sibling of a current student of the school.

  • Third priority must be given to any student who is the sibling of a former student of the school.

  • Fourth priority must be given to any appl icant who is a child of a former student of the school.

  • Fifth priority must be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee at the school or a child of a member of the board of the school.

  • Sixth priority must be given to all other applicants

​​​​​​​Taradale Intermediate has an enrolment zone. Please check the Ministry of Education zone map before you fill in the enrolment form to confirm whether you are an in-zone or out-of-zone applicant. Click on 'Show Zone' just under the map.

How to Enrol

Step 1

Please do not fill out the enrolment form until you have all the documentation prepared for step 2!

Step 2

Email Supporting / Eligibility Documentation

Enrolments cannot be processed until the school has received the supporting  eligibility documentation.

This is a provisional enrolment form based on the following eligibility information being provided to the school via email to enrolments@taradaleint.school.nz

Please state your child's name and "Enrolment Documents" in the subject line.

Eligibility documentation for your child can be:

  • NZ birth certificate or NZ passport (if NZ citizen)

  •  Australian passport (if Australian citizen) or

  • NZ residency permit or NZ student visa/permit and Parental work permit (if the child is not a NZ citizen).

  • In Zone applications must provide proof of address: either rates, power account or rental/sales agreement.  These are the only documents that can be accepted. This proof must show the enrolment address as well as the service address.

  • Out of Zone applications must complete the priority rating field.  If you select priority 2-5; please provide names and dates for siblings/parents in your enrolment email along with your documentation.

  • A copy of any Court Order Documents (if applicable) needs to be submitted at time of enrolment.
