HERO
Taradale Intermediate uses Hero, a secure school management system (SMS), to share learning, reporting, communication, and school administration. Hero brings together everything you need to stay connected with your child's school life, accessible on any device.
Using the Hero app, whānau can:
- View and comment on posts relating to your child’s learning
- View information on your child’s progress and goals, including reports
- Read and comment on school notices sent to the class or groups your child is part of
- Respond to surveys and trip permission requests
- View school term dates and a calendar of events
- Notify the school if your child is absent or late
- Book parent-teacher interviews
- Navigate to other school-related web pages

Hero Notifications
Hero keeps you informed with timely notifications so you never miss an update about your child's learning or school life. You'll receive a notification when a new post is published - either as an in-app notification if you're logged into the Hero app, or by email if you're not currently logged in. In all cases, the notification will direct you to Hero to view the full post.
You can adjust notification preferences in your account settings.
School Payments in Hero
School accounts and billing are managed through Hero. Through the Hero app you can:
- View your family's balance and payment history
- See and pay unpaid items securely online using a debit or credit card
- Access your statement anytime, up-to-date and in one place
Hero Calendar & Excursions
We use Hero for school events and excursion management, keeping all the details your whānau needs in one place. Through the Hero app you can:
- View upcoming events in calendar or list view
- Submit permission responses for each of your children
- Pay any associated costs securely online
You'll also receive automatic reminders for upcoming events and any permissions still needing a response.
