Important January 2018 dates


You've almost made it to Christmas. Well done.
Just before you turn your phones off and ditch the diaries for a few weeks, a reminder of some key dates in January (& early Feb.).

Summer Camp, Whanganui.
Dates: Wednesday 10th January to Sunday 14th January.
U16 - U18 squads need arrive by 10.00am on the 10th. U15s need to arrive by 1.00pm the same day.
Pick up time on Sunday is 2.00pm.
Thanks to those of you who have volunteered to tow boats and trailers. We need one more volunteer and then we're sorted. Please let us know if you can help.
Food: Please make sure everyone brings home baking to Summer Camp. It's a strenuous week, and we need plenty of healthy food options for the boys. . 
Attendance: It is expected that everyone attends Summer Camp. If for some reason you will not be attending, please let us (or your coach) know as soon as possible as it impacts our planning / catering etc. Email [email protected] .
Gear List:

Sleeping bag, pillowcase and pillow if desired (no airbed needed)
Plastic bags for wet gear.
Clearly named plate, bowl and cup with a handle
Jandals
Running shoes
Poly prop leggings and tops
Training t-shirts
Shorts
Trackpants
Togs and beach towel
Sunblock
Beanie
Sunhat
Towels
Warm socks
Non stretchy tape for blisters (big rolls from chemist $13-$15)
2-3 Named or recognisable drink bottles
Spanner (10 mm)
Separate warm casual clothing for after training and evenings
Woollen jersey/fleece
Money for transport, food stops (lunch not provided on the first day)
Healthy Snack food e.g. muesli bars, up and go, nuts, creamed rice.
The closest shop is 2km away and the boys do not have access to the supermarkets.  
Medical:

Wellington Anniversary Weekend, Ruamahanga.
Dates: Friday 19 - Sunday 21 January.
The expectation is all squads attend this.
U15s go over on Friday 19 and return Saturday 20 Jan.
U16s - U18s go over on Saturday morning and return Sunday 21 Jan.
We still need volunteers to parent help, and some towers as well. Please let us know if you are able to help us on [email protected].

KR2/North Island Club Champs, Lake Karapiro.
Dates: Thursday 25 - Sunday 28 January.
Transport and other details to come.  The U17/U18 boys may compete in the North Island Club Champs, which would mean a return to Wellington on Monday 29 January. This will be confirmed in the new year.

Waitangi Weekend, Whanganui.
Dates: Saturday 3 - Tuesday 6 February.
Please make sure this is in your diaries. Further details to come.

Lost Gear.
A lot of gear is going missing on camps etc. Please check the gear that comes home from camps and make sure its yours. It's also a good time to double check your gear is named. It makes it much easier to return to the rightful owner.
