Competition Rules

  • Health Considerations. ​​​​​​​If you are sick or unwell for any reason, please stay away from the event.
  • To enter this event, athletes must meet one of the following two eligibility requirements:
  1. Children aged 7 - 11 years of age based upon your age at the 31st December of the Competition Year and are not eligible for prize money.
  2. Seniors aged 12 - 99 years of age based upon your age at the 31st December of the Competition Year and are eligible for prize money.
  • The series will run from 1.00pm – 2.30pm with track events evenly spaced over this time and field events scheduled in two blocks.  The first field event block starts at 1.00pm and the second block 45 minutes after the first block at 1.45pm.  High Jump will start at 1.00pm and will run till its conclusion​​​​​​​.
  • Walkers can join in with the distance events and will be allocated points on the WMA Age Grading table as long as points have been allocated.
  • Field events will be run on the following basis:-
  1. Long Jump, Triple Jump will be a minimum of three jumps (unless time permits for more).
  2. Throws will be a minimum of three throws (unless time permits for more) and weights will be World Athletics (Ath NZ) standard weights, unless the athlete requests otherwise.
  3. ​​​​​​​All Jumps and Throws are a maximum of 6 attempts if this can be achieved in the time allowed.
  4. High Jump will continue until everyone is out.
  • Athletes can move between field events / track events and not miss any turns (because we will not run rounds) unless they pass one attempt and they have completed all their attempts within the allocated time frame of 45minutes for the event.
  • Entries will be taken at the start line for track events or at the field event if you have been allocated a race number and paid your entry fee as detailed below.
  • Everyone will need to assist to run the events as officials are highly likely to be short.
  • Electronic timing will be operating.

Entry Fees

There is two levels of entry for this event.  Early Bird and Late Entry Fees.  All fees include any applicable admin fees. The fees are:

  • Children
  1. Early Bird closes at 3pm Thursday prior to the event and costs $10.00
  2. Late Entry closes at 3pm the day before the event and costs $15.00
  3. You can enter on the day, which will cost $20.00
  • Seniors
  1. Early Bird closes at 3pm Thursday prior to the event and costs $15.00
  2. Late Entry closes at 3pm the day before the event and costs $20.00
  3. You can enter on the day, which will cost $25.00

Entering one event does not guarantee your entry for the next, you must ensure you have entered and paid your entry fee.

$2.00 of your entry fee is used to pay for petrol vouchers to support officials to attend the meeting.

Refunds

Once you have entered and up to the date of early bird closing, you can request a 50% refund of your entry fee (excluding any admin fees paid).

Once early bird entries close, there are no refunds.

​​​​​​​Points Series

We will run a point’s series using the WMA Age grading calculator tables as follows:-

  • Your best result at each series and the points allocated will count towards your final placing.
  • Scholarships will only be awarded from profits once all expenses are paid.
  • Scholarships are most likley to be awarded on the following basis but may vary depending on the size of the prize pool and numbers participating.
  1. 1st = 40% of profits             
  2. 2nd = 25% of profits
  3. 3rd = 15% of profits
  4. 4th = 10% of profits
  5. 5th = 5% of profits
  6. 6th = 5% of profits
