A huge thank you to the Whaiora Trust for funding and organising the Tu Whakahi Festival held in Masterton at the Wairarapa College hall on Saturday, 15th June 2019.

The Featherston Netball Club were given the opportunity to bake for the guests attending the festival.  What a great day we had, it started at 3.00 pm and ended at 7.00 pm.  Wonderful to get a look into our talented youth in the Wairarapa.  The colleges Kuranui, Makoura and Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Wairarapa came together to organise this event.  Congratulations to one of our young team members Nina Gelashvili currently attending Kuranui College, who was part of this organising group.

The cultural performances were fantastic to watch with Kuranui College showing off their school band with Sali Marks, the 15 minuite Shakespeare performance, Makoura College had the Kapa Haka group, NO1Z school band, the Samoan dance performance and the last performance was a group of youth from Auckland Tone 6 who had Adeaze as a backing group.  We were very priviledged to be at the festival.

The club were able to fundraise and we would like to thank our bakers for this event.  Together we stand and unity is what we are all about.

Thank you to the following bakers of the team:

Stacey Tekira, Alyssa Rosson, Joanna Wong Pown, Karlene Taylor, Nifo Ili, Melanie Birch, Chontell Birch, Madichline Snow.
