***PRIZE GIVING 2019 - THE OUTCOME & AWARD WINNERS***

This season the club has gone forward in leaps and bounds.  We have had amazing support from our wonderful Community and Wider, most of the ladies playing for these teams are either from the Wellington region or Featherston.

First of all I would like to thank all the members of the club, our committee who were voted in March 2019.

Committee: Mel Birch, Karlene Taylor, Rhys Te Kira, Stacey Te Kira, Nina Gelashvili, Logan van de Loo, Clare Ulberg, Jo Wong Pown, Lakyn Irving, Madichline Snow, Tiny Strange, Pai Smith and Kendra Smith.

In 2019 we had two teams, Team 1 who played in the Wairarapa Premier 3 Competition and Team 2, who were a social team.  The Head Coach for Team 1 was Rhys Te kira and Nifo Ili - Player/Assistant Coach.  The Captain was Leasha Rosson (Alyssa) and Vice Captain was Stacey Te kira.  The Team members: Leasha Rosson, Stacey Te kira, Clare Ulberg, Karlene Taylor, Joanna Wong Pown, Jana Havler, Kendra Smith, Lakyn Irving and Shaya Smith.  

Team 1 took out the Wairarapa Premier 3 Competition and are the current champions of this grade in 2019.  Congratulations ladies, you deserved this and you all worked tirelessly throughout the season.  

Team 2 coach is Nifo Ili, however due to Rhys being away for work during training times, Nifo Ili did her job and stepped in to coach Team 1.  The club is very thankful to Tiny Strange and Mel Birch, these wonderful ladies stepped up and took the reins to Manage Team 2.  Therefore a massive thank you to these wonderful ladies for their support and taking on Team 2.  Mel made sure the girls were strapped if there were any injuries, kept their uniforms clean and made sure she would contact the ladies to get them to the games.  Tiny who we are very blessed to have came from Martinborough into the Featherston Netball Club and supported the club by umpiring the Team 1 games and if she was not available she organised a white umpire for our ladies.  Tiny also played for Team 2 and registered the team each week.  Thereby leaving less work for Nifo Ili and Rhy Te kira.  Thank you ever so much to both Tiny Strange and Melanie Birch.  You're work and involvement in the club this season has not gone unnoticed.  

Team 2 Members: Nifo Ili - Player/Coach, Melanie Birch - Manager, Tiny Strange - Manager, Pai Smith - Captain, Georgie Monigatti - Vice Captain, Madichline Snow, Chontell Birch, Makayla Neumann, Nina Gelashvili, Kendra Smith and Billie Wells.

Also want to give a special thank you to Brad & Rochelle Meikle at Supervalue for their full sponsorship in 2019, they donated food to the Prize Giving and we are grateful for their wonderful generosity.  Brad and Rochelle will be sponsoring one of the teams next season.  

We also like to address the kindness of Erin Nesdale and Benn Milne at Property Brokers Featherston for generating and printing the certificates for our Prize Giving, they have also donated toward the Prize Giving for 2019.  Benn and Erin will come on board in 2020 as sponsors for the Featherston Netball Club and we are excited.  The Featherston Netball Club will have team names Property Brokers and another Supervalue.  

A special mention and thank you to Kendra Smith and Hunting & Fishing Masterton for the Player of the Day prizes.  Donations for raffles and more.  Thankful and appreciative of your support and kindness..💙🖤💙

Rhys Te Kira for sponsoring the club with drinks from Frucor.  Thank you Rhys you're fantastic and we also acknowledge Shaya and the kids who always attended the games and trainings and managed to drag along Tukia and Nhala.  We love you all very much and can't wait for 2020.

A huge thank you to all our local and wider businesses, families, friends and community for all donations throughout 2019.  Thank you so much for your support and community spirit.

NB: Thank you to our families and friends who have gone the extra mile for this club.  Marc van de Loo who always supports whether it be barbecue, cleaning up and anything the club requires he would go out of his way to help.  Thank you for your time..
