At just nine years old, Conor Olsen, hailing from the rugged West Coast town of Greymouth, is already making a name for himself in the fast-paced world of go-karting. With a passion for speed that began at the age of four, Conor has a wealth of experience on both dirt and tarmac tracks.
A true competitor, Conor has already proven his mettle by clinching the Junior Ashburton Champs title. His dedication was also recognized at the Huntly North vs South challenge, where he was honored with the "Furthest Travelled Junior" award—a testament to his commitment to the sport. On the tarmac, he secured an impressive 3rd place at the Kartsport Nelson Memorial Night meeting, showcasing his versatility and skill across different surfaces.
When he's not behind the wheel, Conor is a typical Kiwi kid who loves sports. He's a keen player of rugby and rugby league, and enjoys hanging out with his mates.
Currently, he's a force to be reckoned with, competing in the Raket 85cc class on the dirt oval and the Cadet ROK class at Kartsport Westland.
When asked for some words of wisdom, Conor, channeling his inner hero, had a simple but profound piece of advice: "Wise words from the one and only Lightning McQueen: 'Turn right to go left.'" It’s this combination of raw talent and a great sense of humor that makes Conor a future star to watch.
