Dion Coote

Kart Number: 69 (because it reads the same upside down )

Hometown: formerly Waitoa, now Timaru

Chassis/Engine: Arrow X1/Rotax Max

Theres not too many racers in Canterbury who can claim the amount of laps that Coote has run. A veteran of the North Island Dirt Kart scene, most of the nomadic racer's success has come out of the Gisborne Club, claiming a season points title, as well as a win and a podium in the Shifter class Club Championships in recent seasons.

Coote is also no stranger to Speedway, having raced Stock Cars for a handful of seasons "many moons ago", and until recently, was still immersed in the Speedway world as a crew member for Superstock racer and fellow Karter Paul "Pics" Mabey. Having now relocated to the Mainland, Coote holds the interesting distinction of being the only driver to have represented both teams at the annual North versus South event, and has quickly become a respected fixture in the Canterbury scene.

Coote would like to thank Paul's Kart Supplies for the support.

Dion's sums up the whole Dirt Kart Experience in saying he's "made some great mates, and had some awesome times racing dirt karts."

"It's the most fun and cheapest motorsport you can do, and fun for the whole family, no matter whether you're watching or doing"

He also mentioned "wasn't me, wasn't there, you can't prove it", and that "a bad day's racing is still better than a good day at work."
