TOM BLACKIE (1954) Tom gained the honour of being elected the first Life Member of the Club. He served as President for the period 1946-1951 and is best remembered for his enthusiastic service to Club activities, and his willingness to provide much needed Club equipment.

TREVOR SWEENEY (1960) Trevor joined the Club in 1951 and was a most competitive all-round athlete. He applied his considerable administrative ability to servicing the Club, and was instrumental in establishing the Harrier, Joggers, Roadrunning and Children's sections of the Club. In addition, Trevor held a number of Club Offices which included terms as Secretary and President.


IVOR STEEL (1961) A member of a well-known West Coast sporting family, Ivor was a foundation member who made a substantial contribution to the Club over a lengthy period. He held the position of Club Starter until 1960 and was also Treasurer for an unprecedented 22 years. He maintained his interest in the Club even on leaving the district and donated a medal annually to the Club's "Best Trier".

REX FITZGERALD (1962) Rex joined the Club as a competitior in 1941 and started his service on the committee in 1943. He worked unstintingly on the many aspects of Club administration and included among his contributions are 11 years as Club Secretary and nine years as Mahar Cup Secretary. He was also custodian for many years and athletes greatly benefitted from his ground preparation work at Victoria Park. In addition, he served as a most conscientious club auditor for 25 years. Rex passed away in July 2003.

RAY FITZGERALD (1962) Ray's introduction to the Club was as an athlete. He became involved in a variety of club activities and held a number of positions, including custodian and handicapper, before serving as a most astute Treasurer for nine years, until his transfer from the district. Ray contributed significantly to the fundraising efforts for the pavilion construction, and was a key member in the establishment of the Harrier Club. Ray passed away in December 2003.
