MARGARET AND JIM LOVERIDGE (1996) joined the Club when their young family were competing. They assisted in all aspects of Track and Field meetings and shared their knowledge willingly. Margaret went on to compete in Veterans track and field meetings and was the driving force behind the Club hosting the South Island Veterans Championships in 1996 with 120 competitors. In 1987 Margaret was successful at the inaugural Australian Veteran Games held in Tasmania winning gold in the shot put, discus and hammer throw. She went on to compete at Veterans events throughout New Zealand.

VAL McGIRR (nee Sweetman) competed as a sprinter in the 1960s. In 1970 she was instrumental in reforming the Greymouth Childrens section of the Club which had been in recess for a number of years. Val was made Life Member in 1996 for her continued work for the younger athletes on the Club. Sadly, Val passed away in 2010
