What is Friday Night Cricket?
Friday Night Cricket is aimed at our youngest cricketers, ages 5 to 9, who are either new to playing cricket or looking to build on their current skills.

When does Friday Night Cricket start?
For the 20256/27 season, Friday Night Cricket starts on 6th November and runs until 18th December (pre-Christmas). We will start up again on 12th February and go through to 19th March (post-Christmas). We are waiting to hear the date for the annual Santa Parade at Huapai Domain, once this date is confirmed we will advise as we are unable to run a session on that date. Our registrations never close throughout the season so you can register anytime.
How old do I need to be to join Friday Night Cricket?
Players must be at least 5 on the 1st November 2026
Superstars Cricket
Superstars Cricket is for players ages 5 - 6.

Kiwigrade Cricket
Kiwigrade Cricket is for players ages 7 - 9.

How do we work out player placement?
Players are placed in age-grade teams either in Superstars or Kiwigrade, based on their age as of 1st of November 2026. They will remain in these groups for the season.
What do we need to wear?
Players are required to wear a Kumeu Cricket Club branded shirt, shorts and closed toe shoes (preferably trainers/sneakers)
Where can I purchase the clothing?
Cricket Express is our clothing supplier. We will advise when they are available for purchase. If you play both Friday night and Saturday cricket the shirt is the same but will also be required to purchase club pants to play on Saturdays.
What do we need to provide?
Nothing! The club provides all the necessary gear for players. While we appreciate the enthusiasm some players have for bringing their own bats, we prefer that only club-provided bats are used due to past incidents. This helps ensure consistency and safety for all players.
How can I help?
Any assistance is always welcome. Whether you can help with coaching, run a game as a coach, umpire, or scorer, or assist with the BBQ, tuck shop, or other tasks on the night, your contribution makes a significant difference. Please let us know how you are able to assist us.
How much is it to join?
Superstars (5 - 6 ages) - $100.00
Kiwigrade (7 - 8 ages) - $140.00
How to sign up?
Registrations will be opening from the 1st August 2026.
What happens if I wish to withdraw my childs registration?
We understand that circumstances can change, or you may simply change your mind. If you choose to withdraw your childs registration, your refund will depend on when your cancellation request is received as per the below information:
Withdrawal Policy
All withdrawal requests, including the reason for cancellation, must be submitted in writing to kumeucricket@gmail.com.
Players who cancel their registration may be eligible for a refund depending on the timing, in accordance with the schedule below:
Up to and including 19th November 2026: Full refund, less a $65.00 administration fee.
From 20th November 2026 onwards: No refund.
