Twilight

We have successfully run our Twilight competition for 20+ years.  Starting with only 6 teams we have grown to 16 teams. 

Games are played on a Tuesday, starting at 5:30pm.

The competitions is split into two pools, Top 8 and Bottom 8. 

Each teams plays seven rounds and then based on points (or better net run rate for teams who end on the same points) each pool is then split into pools of 4. 

Each pool then plays three rounds, the winner is determined on highest points, or better net run rate for teams ending on the same points.

When does the competition start?

The competition is played on Tuesday and Round 1 starts on the 12th January 2027 and the final round will be played on the 16th March 2027.

There are no rain days for rain affected days, all games will be abandoned and points shared.

Promotion / Relegation

The team that finishes last in the Top 8 round 2 is relegated to Bottom 8 for the next season.  The wining team in the bottom 8 round 2 is promoted to the Top 8 for the next season.  

* Should the team who wins round 2 of the Bottom 8 does not wish to be promoted.  The team finishing last in round 2 Top 8 will not be relegated.

Team confirmation and payments

All teams are required to confirm they wish to return by 1st December 2026. Payment is required to be paid in full by the 15th December 2026 to confirm return of the team. Any teams not confirmed by the 1st December and payments not received by the 15th December teams may also loose their placement in the competition.

At this stage, all competition spots are currently full. However, on the rare occasion that a team withdraws, we will be in touch with teams on the expression of interest list.  Please note that all new teams are automatically placed in the Bottom 8 division.

Junior Twilight Quik Cricket

We will be running a Junior Twilight Competition based off our successful Twilight Competition run on Wednesdays for 6 weeks pre Christmas and then 6 weeks post Christmas

Who can play?

Any one who would like to play cricket, must be at least 8 years old to 13 years.

When does the competition start?

The competition starts post Christmas on the 4th November until the 9th December and pre Christmas from 10th February until the 17th March.

There are no rain days for rain affected days, all games will be abandoned and points shared.

How much does it cost?

If you are already a member of Kumeu Cricket Club the cost is covered in your subs already paid, if you are not a full time club member the cost is $50 per player.

How do I register?

All players are required to be fully registered with the club or on a permit if you play for a school or another club.

How do the games work?

Teams are 8 aside, each player will bowl one over and bat two overs.  Wides and no balls are not rebowled.
