  • Play in the grade you are selected for.

  • Follow the players’ code of conduct (Law 42) — breaches may affect selection.

Selection Process

The Selection Committee will select the best possible teams each week, considering the following factors:

  • Financial position of the player – players must be registered on PlayHQ and financial (No Pay, No Play policy applies)

  • Team balance and requirements for the game

  • Player performance and form

  • Preference is given to those who are available for both days of a two day game.  Especially for Premier Men

  • Training attendance and commitment

  • Attitude, sportsmanship, and conduct

  • Player development and future pathway opportunities

Priority will be given to the Premier team, then Reserves and then Thirds. Preference, where possible, will be given to players who train regularly.

Selection decisions are final, and the Selection Committee’s responsibility is to the club first. Teams will be selected on the Thursday before the first day of the game, with announcements and match details shared later that evening on TeamReach.

While the club values and appreciates any support offered through kindness, sponsorship, or contributions in lieu of fees, this does not create any expectation of selection or promotion to a higher level. Team selection decisions are based solely on performance, form, commitment, attitude, and the needs of the club.

Promotion, Demotion, and Feedback

  • Players may move between grades based on performance, form, team balance, or development opportunities, financial status with the club.

  • Where possible, reasons will be explained to the player concerned.

  • Players may discuss their own selection with the selection committee; on-field matters should be discussed with their captain. Players may not challenge or query the selection of other players.
