You are welcome to simply turn up - please check our class times and our friendly instructors will help.

All new members are invited to have 3 Free Trial Sessions to decide if Judo is the sport for them.

Once you are a member you may attend any and all classes suitable for your age and grade.

1. Please fill in a registration form at the club before stepping on the mat.

You need to be registered with the NZ Judo Federation and our club for ACC cover, emergency contact listed to be graded, and to be able to enter any tournament.

2. You need to have a Judo-gi.

For your first 3 sessions there is a small supply of gi tops at the dojo you can use, thereafter you can buy a new one from the Martial Arts Shop at 250 Stanmore Road, Christchurch or various online stores. If you are buying a second hand gi, ensure it is a judo-gi, Karate style gi’s are not robust enough for judo.

3. After your three free trials, we will email you further club information, along with your first invoice.

Please Note:

We require that no jewellery or hair clips are worn.

Make sure your finger and toe nails are short, long nails scratch other players and pose a risk to eye injury.
