School Season

Later in the season the club will separate out into their respective school groups in preparation for South Island Secondary Schools regatta and Maadi Cup Regattas. We will still train off the water as one, stay together as one just train on the water and race for our respective schools at this stage in the season. 

While Maadi Cup or New Zealand Club Nationals success is the primary goal it is not the only goal.  For many rowers their pinnacle will be the South Island Secondary Schools or South Island Club Championships Regatta. All rowing schools and clubs in the South Island compete at these regatta’s and to medal here is a major achievement. With Maadi Cup being at Lake Karapiro this season we will only take those with proven ability to make A Finals. Qualifying standards need to be achieved prior to this decision being made as Maadi participation is not guaranteed. It is a weeklong event during school time so Principals are requiring high entry standards, and all schoolwork must be up to date to attend.
