Papatoetoe Athletics Club

CLUB RULES AND INFORMATION

Club nights are held every Tuesday evening at 6.00pm.  No club night will be officially cancelled – but the weather may cause a club night to be restricted, shortened or abandoned.
In such cases parents can make their own decision about coming or not.

Points are awarded in all events (See next page), and added up to get a season total, which determines overall season placings. (See Prize giving)

The club uniform is a purple singlet with the club monogram on the centre front, for athletes ages 7+. Athletes aged 2-6 wear a purple tee shirt. All athletes wear black shorts with 2 gold stripes down each side. Uniforms are available from the club. Registration numbers must be SEWN on the centre back and age patches must be SEWN on the left chest of the singlet/tee shirt.
Registration numbers & age patches are issued on receipt of registration payment. New members must produce evidence of their birth date.

Full uniform must be worn at all times while competing at all club and out meetings.
Athletes may not be awarded placings/points if they are not wearing full uniform. A plain sweatshirt may be worn UNDER the singlet.
BLACK bike pants, ABOVE THE KNEE, may be worn under shorts.

Spiked running shoes may be worn by athletes aged 10 and over.  Spikes are not to be worn away from the competition area.

This is an official safety rule, and appropriate action will be taken against athletes who fail to comply with this, which may include suspension.

Unless they are at a marshalling area or competing at an event, children should not be in the centre track area.

The committee reserves the right to disqualify or suspend any member for misconduct or unruly behaviour at any club or out meeting.
The club will not accept any responsibility for children prior to, during, or after completion of any club/out meeting programme. This applies even if the programme is shortened unexpectedly.
