ABOUT THE PROGRAMME AND NEW POINTS SYSTEM
1st, 2nd, & 3rd placings in the 7-17 year age groups, with “Participation points” re-introduced for these age groups.
And there will no longer be Sprint “divisions”…
Any heats that are needed will be “random”.
Also the distance variations in the 10-17s races is scrapped…
That is, there will not be 60m, 1000m, or 1200m for these age groups.
The 800m for 9s, and 200m for 6s have been a success, and will continue.
A NEW SIMPLIFIED POINTS SYSTEM HAS BEEN DECIDED ON…
(Which is a sort of “compromise” between the old system and what was tried out over the last two seasons) –
IT WILL BE THE SAME POINTS SYSTEM FOR ALL HEATS,
AND ALL AGE GROUPS 2-17:
1ST = 10, 2ND = 8, 3RD = 6, ALL UNPLACED = 3
TIED PLACINGS ARE SIMPLIFIED AS FOLLOWS:
1ST= Both get 10 points, next is 2nd (8), next is 3rd (6) i.e. 10,10,8,6…3
2nd= Both get 8 points, next is 3rd (6) i.e. 10,8,8,6…3
3rd= Both get 6 points i.e. 10,8,6,6…3
Note This only applies to the Club Night competition – NOT Club Champs.
