Regulations

It is advisable for every player to have a copy of the book “LAWS OF THE GAME” and to become familiar with rules which apply to playing the game as these will apply to all the Club’s activities. Rule books can be downloaded and/or printed from the  Bowls New Zealand website.

Tied Games

Since the Fours, Triples and Pairs consist of a stated number of ends per game, if it is found, when all ends are played, that the scores are equal, then an extra end, or ends, shall be played until there is a winner. At the commencement of the first extra end the Skips shall toss for the right to decide who shall play first. The extra end shall be played from where the previous end was completed and the mat shall be placed in accordance with the “Laws of the Game”.

In the case of an extra end being tied - then the Skips shall again toss and the winner shall have the right to decide who shall play first.

In the case of an extra end being declared dead, then the “Law of the Game” shall apply. (The first to play in the extra end shall again play first)

Event Days

Where the number of days required to finish an event exceed those programmed, the games will be played at a time and day as directed by the Event Controller after consultation with the players. This may include twilight games.

Draws and progressive results of all Championship play are available on the Draws & Results/This Year page and are also posted in the Information Room.

Byes

When all players or teams in an event are in receipt of a bye no result is recorded. Where only some players or teams are in receipt of a bye that bye is recorded as a game won.
