On the 18 April 2009 The Ratana Maramatanga Sports Club collectively decided to meet together prior to the commencement of the season to place a Kawenata asking for a blessing and Manaaki from Ihowa upon all players, supporters and volunteers. This was well attended by over 80 representing all codes inclusive of Junior and senior players and overseen by our Kaumatua and Tumuaki - Harerangi Meihana.
When seeking the right way to do this, consultation was made with various Pou o te Hahi and through their discussions to ensure that we are asking for the right reasons. Not to let it be merely a document to be filed in the Temepara and forgotten. Let it be something that unifies us and brings us together. Thanks to those who have supported us in these endeavours.
