Uniforms

All riders are expected to attend rallies in clean and correct pony club uniform with a well-groomed mount and safe, clean tack.

  • Long hair needs to be tied back in a plait or hairnet

  • Long sleeves must be worn while mounted

  • Jewellery MUST be removed as per NZPCA regulations

Riders will be inspected at rallies for turnout and safety. There is an award at the end of the season for the best turnout over the season.

The correct uniform is:

  • Safety approved riding helmet with a yellow tag – this can be done at rallies if required

  • Riding boots

  • WPC long-sleeved top

  • Pony Club badge

  • Light coloured, cream, or beige jodhpurs

  • Body Protectors are required for jumping on the cross-country course and riders are welcome to wear them for all riding activities. They must meet standards BETA EN13158 2009 Level 3 or ASTM F1937.

  • White shirt and yellow tie for formal activities – i.e. when sitting certificates and representing WPC at team events (ties will be provided by WPC)

Also available

WPC helmet covers and saddle blankets are available but not compulsory.
