Tournaments, One-Day Events, and Commitment
Participation in tournaments and one-day events forms an integral part of the WHS Sports Programme, offering valuable opportunities for players to test their skills, compete at a higher level, and represent the school with pride. These events not only foster personal growth and teamwork but also enhance our school’s sporting reputation.There are travel and accommodation costs associated with these events, which must be covered by students and their families. All players selected for the Senior A and Junior A teams are expected to show full commitment throughout the entire season. This includes consistent attendance at all scheduled training sessions, team meetings, and performance development activities, as well as maintaining a positive attitude both on and off the field.
The Sports Department determines which teams will participate in tournaments and one-day events based on qualification standards, performance levels, and overall team readiness. Participation is regarded as a privilege, reflecting each player’s dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship demonstrated across the season.
To confirm involvement in tournaments, each player is required to pay the designated deposits well in advance of the event. These contributions are essential for effective planning and to ensure the school’s place in key competitions. All associated event fees must be paid in full prior to attendance, unless a payment plan has been arranged with the school.
By meeting these commitments, players actively contribute to their team’s preparation, cohesion, and overall success. Maintaining these standards not only strengthens team performance but also upholds the proud sporting values of WHS.
