RUGBY COACHES FOR 2024 SEASON


Waikite Rugby Club is seeking applications for Head Coach Positions for the 2024 season for our Senior Men’s & Women’s rugby teams, competing in Bay of Plenty competitions.

                                                                            

Waikite has proud, strong and well established Rugby history in the Bay of Plenty spanning over 120 years. We are looking for Senior coaches who have the drive and ability to guide a team as well as the skills and ability to develop players to their full potential.


Applicants need to demonstrate the following:


  • Previous coaching experience at Premier or Senior Level
  • Preferably completed a DRC level 2 coaching course
  • Demonstrated ability to improve player skill sets, physically and technically.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor players.
  • A track record of success, underpinned by proven season and game planning skills.
  • Has high morals, integrity and values that align with Waikite Club values.
  • Foster a strong team culture that helps ensure positive results.
  • Form and build positive relationships and communication lines with other coaches and management of all teams.
  • Be able to work with players from all walks of life and backgrounds.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with all key club stakeholders (Players, Committee, Supporters & Sponsors)
  • Managers will need to be organised and have sound management and organisational skills


Key attributes sought in the appointees include:

  • Strong technical knowledge of the modern game, combined with sound coaching and analytical skills.
  • Experience in coaching rugby at senior level or higher.
  • Special interest in teenage/youth sport, balancing the objectives of success in the short-term, with the development of individual athletes in a team environment.
  • An ability to work with and challenge a group of aspiring rugby players.
  • Coaching support will be available.
