Fast 5 Social Netball League
Term 4 sees the start of our Social Netball Leagues. This year we will be running a 6 week Fast 5 League for both Intermediate and Secondary Players. (Two seperate Grades)
No "stacked " teams please. This is an opportunity to get together with your mates of all levels and abilities. We welcome players new to netball and encourage an atmosphere of fair play and awesome sportsmanship. The focus is on having fun and getting active , so get your mates together and come have a go!
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS LEAGUE:
NEW START DATE Wednesday 1 Nov to 6 Dec.
Teams are to provide their own umpires. GNC will try to source some umpires to help out where needed.
Games are 4 x 7 minute quarters
The Draw will be posted every Tuesday on the GNC Facebook page and emailed to players. Games start at 4pm
Fast 5 incorporates 1, 2 & 3 point goals. There are 5 players on the court (No WA or WD) and subs can be rolled on at any time throughout the game. For everyone to get good game time we recommend a maximum of 8 players). See Rules attached.
It’s mixed, meaning boys can play too. A maximum of 2 boys can be on the court at any one time. They must be playing in different thirds.
Teams can consist of friends across schools, cuzzies, brothers and sisters. Mix it up with who ever you want!
Spot prizes and team awards will go out to those demonstrating positive sportsmanship.
There is no strict uniform code. You decide what to wear as long as it’s comfortable and appropriate for physical activity. Sports shoes are a must and we ask that players remove all jewellery and nails are kept short.
Don’t forget your water bottle and sunscreen!

PAYMENT
Flat fee of $10 per player for the entire league. Please make payment to Gisborne Netball Centre 03-0638-0380110-00. Reference Name and Fast 5 . Payments must be received before the start of the league.
