Gisborne Netball is a place where people come together, grow their skills and enjoy the game. Our courts are filled with tamariki, rangatahi, seniors, umpires, coaches and whānau who support each other and create a positive space for everyone. Whether you are playing, learning, helping or cheering from the sideline, you are part of our netball family.

BACKGROUND

Established in 2020 the GNC Youth Activation Group has helped codesign  various youth social leagues aimed at increasing the physical activity levels of rangatahi.  Players both experienced and new to the game, have enjoyed a range of new netball experiences since the groups conception.  Members will be provided with opportunities to develop their leadership skills, have input into youth related  matters, and gain valuable community volunteer experience.  Projects have included:

  •  2020 Beach Netball League.
  • 2021 & 2023 Fast 5 Festival and Fast 5 League. 
  • 2022 Sand & Court Rangatahi Social Netball League.
  • Run Youth Netball as part of community initiatives such as Well Wahine Week.

The YAG get behind all aspects of these projects including planning, promotion and event day delivery.  As well as getting behind youth initiatives Youth Activators are valuable to GNC in terms of gathering and sharing youth insights to help us make informed decisions about Youth wants and needs.  So if you have something to say we'd love to hear it!
