Gisborne Netball is a place where people come together, grow their skills and enjoy the game. Our courts are filled with tamariki, rangatahi, seniors, umpires, coaches and whānau who support each other and create a positive space for everyone. Whether you are playing, learning, helping or cheering from the sideline, you are part of our netball family.

YEAR 7 & 8 FAST 5 FESTIVAL

GNC and Whitiora Tairawhiti are excited to bring you this years F5 Festival!

What to bring: Your own whistles and bibs (be sure to name these). NO WA or WD.  There will be sets available to borrow from the GNC tower if needed. Balls will be supplied by GNC. Students to bring own drink bottles and snacks. Water taps available on site. Students/schools are to provide their own lunches. You are encouraged to eat in between your playing rounds.

  • Set Up: Teams are welcome to set up gazebos from 8.30am. 
  • 9.30am: Welcome, Briefing   
  • 9.40am: Mass Warm Up – Grab score cards and head to your court.
  • 10.00am: Round 1 starts
  • 1.00pm Final round
  • Prizegiving: Will take place as soon as possible after the 1pm round (approx. 1.30pm)

Games: All games will be 2 x 7-minute halves with 1 minute half time (5 minutes between rounds). NO INJURY TIME. Max of 2 boys on the court at any one time and in different playing thirds. ROLLING SUBS.

Umpires: Teams are expected to bring their own umpire (and whistles) – We have recruited 10 volunteer Junior Umpires but cannot guarantee enough to cover the whole day. 

First Aid: Schools will be expected to provide their own first aid kit to attend to any minor injuries and have prescribed medications available for those students who require it.

Gazebos: Access to the courts to erect gazebos will be available from 8.30am.  These can be placed on the Roebuck Road fenceline and behind courts 5 & 6 (see site map attached).  Please ensure these are secure with weights/sandbags etc if windy.

Results: (WIN = 4 points, DRAW = 2, LOSS WITHIN 3 = 1, LOSS = 0).

Prizegiving: Pool Winners & Runners Up, Positive Vibes. Individual - Plank Challenge, Shoot Out.

Farewell / Pack up – Please return all borrowed gear to the Admin Area, put all rubbish in the bins and check you have all your belongings.  

Plank Challenge / Shoot Out (optional): In your rounds off, come and take part in our Plank and Shootout Challenge and be in to win!
