Coaching

There is sprint endurance and endurance running training on Monday and Friday afternoon, meeting at 3.40 on the school sports field. Anyone interested in running is welcome to join the group and get some coaching for the upcoming school athletics, zones and beyond competitions.

KP is our school coach and specialises in coaching 400m through to 3000m.

If you're interested in throw coaching see Mr Fleming.

If you're wanting to take Athletics seriously or just want to develop your ability through a quality programme and coaching then head on down to the local clubnight held every Wednesday beginning 5.30pm during the summer season.

Our sports team manages and supports athletes on the day; both Mr Fleming and Mr Overmayer have strong background in athletics and are available to provide specialist coaching leading up to this event.

There is a very short turn around before this event so top 3 place getters in each event at the WBoP Champs are required to confirm whether they are available to compete for the Waikato Bay of Plenty team (not the College) at the North Island Secondary School Championships (NISS) by completing a form available from the tent near the finish line before they leave for the day. The team managers for this event are selected by Sport Waikato and these managers lead the very best within the Waikato and Bay of Plenty Regions to go head to head with the rest of the North Island.
