Volleyball

Hillcrest High School has a strong volleyball tradition, with teams regularly competing at National Tournament. We are very fortunate to have ex National player Miss McIlroy and her partner Himi Whitewood as coaches. Both Himi and Miss McIlroy have a plethora of experience coaching many National Volleyball teams over the years. Last year saw our junior boys volleyball team take out the North Island Secondary Schools Championship title. We also host the Sunday Social Volleyball league here at our HHS gyms beginning Sunday 26 May for 6 weeks and this is open to both students and the wider community.

Terms: One (Senior Volleyball), Three & Four (Junior Volleyball)

Fee: $60 pp. per term

Uniform: HHS volleyball shirt, PE shorts/black tights for girls

Training Days: Term Four training days to be announced later in Term Three

Trials: Term Four trials will be announced later in Term Three - keep an eye out in the daily notices

Match Day: Games are generally played on Saturdays with the first game at 9am. Some boys games are played on Friday evenings

Venues: The Peak (1 Kimbrae Dr, Rototuna North, Hamilton 3281) or Fraser High School (72 Ellicott Rd, Nawton, Hamilton 3200)

Format: The competition will be organised into grades with later promotion/relegation between smaller groups as weeks go on – even if teams start off in wrong grades, they will move to the appropriate level fairly quickly
