Hawkes Bay Area Pony Club is proud to host NZPCA Dressage Champs on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th January 2016 at Dannevirke A&P showgrounds on State Highway 2 – about 3 hours north of Wellington, 1 hour north of Palmerston North, 3.1/2 hours south of Taupo. Dannevirke is a charming rural town with an array of shops, cafes, bars, a golf course and many walking tracks – you might end up spending an extra day here! The swimming pool is an easy walk from the showgrounds for a refreshing dip at the end of the day.
Facilities at the grounds are excellent – plenty of covered stables to shelter your dressage stars from the hot Hawkes Bay sun or possibly some unseasonable rain! There’s a super big hall for both evening functions, plenty of showers and toilets and ample camping space, a beautiful oval, grandstand, shady trees and lots of room. All competition and social functions will happen at the showgrounds.
Meals on both evenings will be very substantial, nutritious and delicious – designed to appeal to everyone, parents and younger people. We’d like to have a big turnout for both evenings.

The Championship classes will be run under the same format as in 2015, ie each team member will ride two Champs tests, one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday. And as is the norm, we will be running Open classes, details of these will follow at a later date.
