Our Vision
The PSCI's vision is to be a Leader & Provider of Safe Sports Practices within the Sports Community in NZ

Our Mission
To uphold Christian Values and traditions of the Penrhyn Island people.
To give members opportunities that create, develop and participate in sports and physical recreation at all levels.

People from the island of Penrhyn (an atoll in the most Northern part of the Cook Islands) left their island in search of a better life and future for their families, where a migration to Auckland, New Zealand started in the early 1900's. In 1981 the Penrhyn people came together with an interest to play cricket. This humble beginning would ignite the dream and vision for a brighter future for generations to come. The original name of the club was Tongareva/Hararanga (other names associated with Penrhyn) and from these diminutive beginnings in 1982 our club took on a new name given by founders, Penrhyn Sports Club.

MESSAGE FROM THE CLUB PRESIDENT

Kia Orana PSCIS family,

First and foremost, I want to take this opportunity to Acknowledge the efforts and commitment of our former Acting President/Vice President Temata Marsters Aitu, Committee right down to Club members for your huge contributions in sustaining Club achievements and progress in the last three years.. Thank you Maata/Poria.

Personally, I would prefer to speak in Penrhyn, my mother tongue however I am conscious of the fact that a large portion of our Club members and families are limited in their Tongareva/Penrhyn language abilities. An aspect I would encourage and support to be lifted in 2019.

To the newly elected Committee, which I will provide or outline in the next few days once I receive the AGM minutes, Welcome Aboard.

I am confident that the Club challenges we face in 2019 will provide, motivate and encourage a firm foundation to enable, sustain positive progress and results in moving forward to the next level.

Kia Orana & Kia Manuia.
