South Canterbury Croquet Association - South Island Teams event

2017-18. At Ashburton weekend 7th & 8th April at Allenton club, the second Golf croquet teams event, managed by Raylene Phillips. There were six teams playing, again Marlborough unable to field a team, again Sth Canterbury put in a second team to prevent a bye.

The teams were Southland; J Telfer, F Gibson, N Crowe, L Turner.

Nelson won the event with 5 match wins and 23 game wins, Canterbury were runners up with 3 match wins and 17 game wins, then followed in order Otago with 2 match wins and 16 game wins, South Canterbury green with 3 match wins and 15 game wins, Southland with 2 match wins and 12 game wins and South Canterbury gold with 0 match wins and 6 game wins.

Game wins decide the winner.

There were six teams of four players representing their Associations.
Marlborough at the last minute were unable to field a team and South Canterbury provided the 6th team to eliminate the bye round.
the weather on Saturday was a lovely autumn day, Sunday was overcast and cool.
