What is a Game Official?
It’s a broad and exciting world! Being a Game Official includes umpiring, coaching umpires, or keeping the game running smoothly as a bench official. Through the fantastic Netball NZ pathway, we provide a supportive environment to help you grow, no matter your starting point.
Aspiring Umpire Programme
Perfect for anyone Year 8 and above (adults, you’re more than welcome too!). This is a fun, step-by-step journey designed to build your skills and confidence. You won’t be doing it alone - our Junior Umpire Coordinators are always on hand with plenty of encouragement and expert advice to help you shine.
Senior Umpire Programme
Designed for those with a Level 2 qualification or higher, this is your chance to feature on the main draw! You’ll receive dedicated mentoring from our specialist umpire coaches throughout the season. Whether you're aiming for local games or have your sights set on New Zealand level, we’re here to help you reach your goals.
Bench Officials
Our Premier Thursday night games are where the magic happens, and our bench officials are right in the thick of it. This vital role manages the score, timing, and match details. If you have a keen eye for detail, we offer a clear development path within the Netball NZ framework to get you involved.
