Coaching Overview

Coaching is a great way to connect with your community, share your knowledge and give back to our future generations. We have a variety of levels of teams, right from grass roots Year 1-2, all the way up to our Premier league.

Whether you are brand new to your coaching journey, or are already a coach that would like more support or development, we're here to help and would love to hear from you.

What we can offer you:

  • For coaches of our FutureFERNS Year 1-8 players we run a coach workshop for each age group before the season commences

  •  NNZ Coaching Framework modules including Community Coach Award Level 1 and 2 qualifications

  • Coaching opportunity with support at our Player Development sessions and representative coaching opportunities 

  • Club coach workshops and/or informal meetings - organised at clubs request

  • Informal workshops and meetings on specific topics 

  • Support with NetballSmart warm ups


Coaching Qualifications 

If you are interested in gaining NNZ Coaching qualifications or keen to develop your coaching skills further, we can deliver any of the NNZ Coaching Framework modules.  The modules include an online portion which can be completed in your own time through Sports Tutor and then a practical portion completed at a workshop.

Providing we have a minimum of five to six coaches we are happy to organise to deliver any of these workshops either at the Centre or at your Club. 

Club Coach Sessions 

Coach Developers are available to run either informal coaching sessions or CCA1 and CCA2 workshops at your clubs at a time that suits you. This is a great alternative if you have a group of enthusiastic coaches who enjoy working and developing together.  Get in touch if you would like to organise a session.

We have the perfect coaching opportunities within our player development and representative spaces. Please get in touch if you're interested in any (or all!) of these or look out for when registrations for coaches open: 

  • Year 7/8 Player Development Program - Sunday, June 7th - Sunday, June 28th 2026 (running on Sundays during this period).

  • 16 Emerging Talent Programme - Sunday, May 3rd - Sunday, May 24th 2026 (running on Sundays during this period).
