New Zealand Riding for the Disabled (NZRDA)

New Zealand Riding for the Disabled is the country’s only internationally affiliated and recognised provider of therapeutic horse riding. Their core purpose is to provide safe, goal-based interaction with horses to improve health, wellbeing, confidence, and independence for people experiencing disability or those with specific challenges or needs.

They aim to enable and support participants to live good lives—through meaningful participation in, and contribution to, important life activities and roles in their communities.

Across Aotearoa, NZRDA operates through over 40 local groups, including in the Bay of Plenty region.
