MRS ELIZABETH (LIZ) TAPPER

The Tapper family started with Waverley Swimming Club in the late 1970's and it was not long before Liz's name began to appear in the committee minutes.

With her children having immense success in the pool it must have been a busy household, but she still managed to hold positions on the Waverley commmittee and the Swimming Southland board. Over her time with Waverley she has held many positions including Secretary, Selector and President.

As well as officiating at local, national and international meets, she has travelled with many Southland teams as Manager. She was a life member of Waverley and was made a life member of Swim Southland in 2000.

Sadly Liz passed away in early 2026 - up until which she was an integral member of the committee and involved in decisions made by the club.  Her and friendly face and fabulous smile are missed both poolside and at meetings.
