futureFERNS Year 3 & 4

(7-8 years olds)

Specifically for Year 3 & 4 players (7-8 year olds) which is designed to develop fundamental movement skills and discover new skills whilst having a fun and positive learning experience.  Players will play a 6v6 modified game format and will be encouraged to try all positions on the court throughout the season.

GRADING GAMES:

All teams will play 2 x grading games for the first two weeks, playing 2 x 8 min halves with 2 min half time break.

10.30am Grading Game 1

20min break between rounds

11.15am - Grading Game 2

All games and NON COMPETITION

Draw Format: - round robin

Game Times: all games played on one single round at 10.30am (4 x 8 min quarters with 2 min breaks)

GAME SET UP 

9.55am: NetballSmart WarmUp (10 mins)

10.05am: Skill Session (20 mins)

10.25am - Game Set Up / Ready on Court

10.30am: 1st quarter (8 mins)

10.38am: Break (2 mins)

10.40am: 2nd quarter (8 mins)

10.48am: Break (2mins)

10.50am: 3rd Quarter (8 mins)

10.58am: Break (2 mins)

11.00am: 4th Quarter (8mins)

11.08am: Finish

Year 3 & 4 sessions are taught over a 10 week program that introduces players to different skills and activities each week.  There are a number of key learning and coaching points and all the activities in each lesson are focussed on learning a particular skill specific to netball.
