The 2024 Men's Over 60's Fours tournament was played fine and blustery (it is Tawa after all) conditions on 25-26 March.  Entries were down this year with full calenders and proximity to Easter being a couple of the factors.  Where previously it's been one day on the carpet and one day on the grass, everybody got to enjoy two days on our grass even though the cross wind was challenging at times.

At the end of the first day, only one team had won all three games with another four teams close behind on two wins.  The first game on day two was almost a continuation of day one with four of the leading five teams winning again before some form reversals in game two helped to spread the field leading into the final game.

The previously unbeaten Tawa team skipped by Graham Williams were outplayed by the Larry Williams skipped Johnsonville/Naenae combo which allowed the John Zino skipped Lyall Bay/Island Bay combo to draw level on five wins and take the title with a superior ends count of 44 to 42.  Two draws in the final round saw the Jville/Naenae combo alone on four wins in third place although they would have secured third with their superior ends count.  Prizes also went to the winners of Day One and Day Two not in the major prizes and the lucky team.

The full results are available at Tawa Events and more photos of the prize winners are here.
