A selection of photos taken at the 2026 Charity raising funds for Wellington Free Ambulance courtesy of TC.
The charity for this season's event was Wellington Free Ambulance.
Fourteen teams took part in the event with a rotational triples format so everyone, guests and regular members included, got the opportunity to see and try their hand at the different facets of the game. Lance from the WFA came along and joined in and was able to report back to his organisation on how much he enjoyed the day.
While the real winner of the day is the charity, kudos also go to the winning team which this year was made up of Mike & Julie Steele and David Corner. They were one of two teams who won all three games with the same 14 ends but a superior points differential over the family combo of Paul, Isabelle & Matthew Hassall. The lucky team prize went to another family combo of Beverley, Anna & Neil McGuinness.
We sold 44 hamburgers for lunch and sold 200 raffle tickets. Nanette did a great job putting together 21 really lovely prizes made up from things donated by our very generous club members. Very generous donations were received from Blair Clarke, Doreen McEnaney, Dave Nolan, Joy Irvine and Daphne Fenwick.
Special thanks to Jean Aiken who comes along each year to help out in the kitchen preparing lunches and morning and afternoon tea. Also thanks to Barbara Allnutt, Doreen McEnaney and Gay Adams who stepped in and helped out in what proved to be a very busy kitchen. Thanks to Les for helping out by taking in the entry money and Ross for all the work he did balancing up all the money once everything was over.
We raised $1,173.30 for the WFA and their Community Liaison Officer, Nick Swan, responded with "That’s a superb result. The club should be very proud, and we are extremely grateful 😊"
