MANAGERS CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person.
  • Be professional in and accept punctuality and responsibility for your actions.   Language, manner, preparation and presentation should reflect high standards.  Display control, respect, dignity and professionalism to all involved with the sport.  This includes opponents, coaches, officials, administrators, parents and spectators.  Encourage your players to demonstrate the same qualities.
  • Operate within the rules and spirit of your sport.
  • Applaud good play by players on both teams.  Children learn best by example.
  • Any physical contact with players should be appropriate to the situation and necessary for the player’s skill development or injury related. Understand that your intentions and the players interpretations of touching will be influenced by cultural differences and religious implications.  Be sensitive to the impact of different degrees of interpersonal proximity and be aware that unnecessary touching may offend.
  • Refrain from any form of personal abuse.  Be alert to any forms of abuse directed towards your players from other sources whilst they are in your care.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities meet safety standards.  Equipment needs to be appropriate for the age and ability of the players.
  • Be a positive role model for netball and players.
