Children’s Dates 2025/2026
What are Ribbon Days?
For those families who are new to athletics, we strongly encourage you to attend Ribbon Days when you can. Ribbon Days are participation based and a huge amount of fun for kids up to 14 years of age. You do not need to register - just turn up and compete in what you want. There’s lots of ribbons up for grabs and events are typically structured so every child earns at least one ribbon (although it can’t be guaranteed). They are a great experience for the kids, learning the rhythm and feel of a competition day. It’s great practice for the more structured competitions like the WBOP Children’s Champs and the Colgate Games. Ribbon days are also FREE so please come along and join in the fun! Please note that if a Ribbon Day is washed out on the Saturday, it may be run on the Sunday. Start time is generally 10.00am so please arrive at 9:30am to get settled in.
Indicative event dates are below - we recommend double checking these on the official Waibop website, where further event location details can also be found https://athleticswaikatobayofplenty.org.nz/competition/events/
