Ōtāhuhu Intermediate School has an enrolment scheme. This means that students who live within our school home zone are entitled to enrol at our school.
Our home zone is shown on the attached map and described in the official boundary information below.
Families enrolling as in-zone students will need to provide proof of residence to confirm that the student lives within the home zone.
Home Zone
Students who live within the home zone are entitled to enrol at Ōtāhuhu Intermediate School.
The home zone starts at the intersection of Savill Drive and Favona Road and follows the coastline, railway line, Great South Road, Southern Motorway, Clemow Drive, Carbine Road, Gabador Place, Hospital Road, Massey Road, and Savill Drive.
All no-exit roads within the boundaries are included unless specifically stated otherwise.
Because the legal zone description is detailed, we encourage families to check the attached map or contact the school office if they are unsure whether their address is in zone.
Official Home Zone Description
Below you can find a map of our home zone.
All no-exit roads within the boundaries described above are included in the zone unless otherwise stated.
In-Zone Enrolments
Each year, applications for enrolment for the following year from in-zone students will be requested by a date advertised by the school. This helps the Board understand how many places may be available for students who live outside the home zone.
Out-of-Zone Enrolments
Each year, the Board will decide how many places may be available for out-of-zone students for the following year. This information will be published in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.
Out-of-zone applications will be considered in the following order:
- Siblings of current students
- Siblings of former students
- Children of former students
- Children of school staff or Board members
- All other applicants
Ōtāhuhu Intermediate School does not currently run a special programme approved by the Secretary for Education, so the special programme priority does not apply.
If there are more applications than places available in any priority group, selection will be by ballot. Families will be informed of the ballot date through public notice.
Families applying under sibling priority may be asked to provide proof of the sibling relationship.
