Our School Values

At Ōtāhuhu Intermediate, our values guide the way we learn, behave, lead, and care for one another. Through Alo – ‘A’alo OIS, students learn what it means to paddle together as one kura, showing mana in their words, actions, and choices.

Our values of Respect, Personal Responsibility, Passion, and Excellence for All are supported through our Mana Moves PB4L team and MAP to Excellence, which help students understand what positive behaviour looks like across all areas of school life.

Together, these values create a kura where every learner is encouraged to belong, contribute, grow, and strive for Excellence for All – Kia Kounga te Katoa

WHAT'S HAPPENING

Our Learning

At Ōtāhuhu Intermediate, learning is vibrant, hands-on, and full of opportunity. Our carefully designed timetable, classroom programmes, and specialist classes support every learner to grow their skills, explore new interests, and take on exciting challenges.

From Hangarau, sport, and extra-curricular activities to passion projects, tabloid sports, and leadership opportunities, students are encouraged to discover what inspires them and where their strengths lie.

At our kura, we want every student to step forward as a capable, connected, and curious lifelong learner.

Cultural Enrichment

At Ōtāhuhu Intermediate, we celebrate the identity, language, culture, and heritage of our learners.

Through our bilingual classes, cultural groups, haka waiata, whare, Language Weeks, and cultural events, students are supported to feel proud of who they are and connected to our kura.

Cultural enrichment helps our students belong, lead, share, and contribute with mana.
