The first Town vs Country bowls clash took place at the Kia Toa Bowling Club on Sunday 15th October, with 20 town players and 20 country players competing for the Noel Kerr Memorial Trophy. The Kia Toa green played well with a lot of players showing their class.

Mitchell Dunbar from the country team was outstanding, showing his class in front of the South Canterbury selectors.

The town team were all class in winning the Kerr Trophy, beating the country team with ease.

Ex-Canterbury Rugby player Mel Reid combined well with her new sport and is showing a lot of ability
