Once the swimmer starts gaining in confidence... They get to start challenging themselves, but only when they are ready..
We run the Long Distance Programmes (LDP), the Indoor and the Outdoor champs.. It is important to note that these can only be run with the support of the parents.
The CSC Long Distance Programme:
The Long Distance Programme consists of 400/800/1500 metre freestyle races plus the 400IM, and is usually run on Friday nights. (Russell selects those swimmers that are identified as capable of swimming the distance)
CSC Indoor Champs
The Indoor Champs cover all events across all strokes, and are competed for by age - 9/Under 10/11 12/13 14/15 and 16/Over.
CSC Outdoor Champs
The Outdoor Champs cover all events across all strokes, and are competed for by age - 9/Under 10/11 12/13 14/15 and 16/Over but Outdoors in the 33metre pool in summer (over two days) and there are handicapped races (which are extremely exciting to watch (Swimmers start slowest to fastest).
Results:
For those new to looking through results, it can be confusing so;
1) a Negative result in the Improve column, means they have swum faster i.e. -2.31 means they have cut their previous best time by -2.31 seconds –
2) if you see just a “ – “ result in the improve column, that means they have not swum this event before whilst at CSC – and therefore it is NOT a PB it is the first time they have swum the event.
3) On the other hand - a time like 2.31 means that they have swum it before but in fact they were 2.31 seconds slower than their best time ever..OK?
