On the Bus - Conduct Guidelines

Travelling to regattas is an exciting part of the rowing season. Whether it’s a short trip or a long haul, the journey sets the tone for the team’s performance and camaraderie. To ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for all, the following expectations apply to all rowers travelling by bus:

Supervision

  • Parent helpers will be present on the bus to support and oversee the journey.
  • Rowers are expected to follow instructions from supervising adults at all times.

Behavior Expectations

Rowers must uphold the club’s values and demonstrate maturity and respect throughout the trip. This includes:

  • Respect Each Other
Be inclusive, supportive, and considerate of teammates. Avoid disruptive behavior or language that could affect others’ comfort or wellbeing.
  • Respect the Bus and Driver
Keep the bus clean and free of rubbish. Follow all safety instructions and treat the driver with courtesy.
  • Respect the Parents
Acknowledge their role and show appreciation for their time and support. Cooperate fully with any guidance or requests they make during the journey.

Notes:

  • Excitement is natural, especially before a big regatta - but rowers must balance energy with responsibility.
  • The bus is an extension of the club environment: behavior should always reflect WCRC’S standards.
