Te Mahia School Hits the Slopes – Our First Ever Ski Trip!
Our very first school ski trip was an unforgettable adventure, packed with challenge, excitement, and personal growth. For many of our tamariki, it was their first time ever seeing snow – let alone strapping on skis and taking to the mountain!
This experience was a powerful example of our school values in action. Our students showed Mana Whānau by looking out for each other, cheering one another on, and sticking together as a strong team. They demonstrated Mana Tu through courage and grit – pushing past fear, taking risks, and standing tall in unfamiliar conditions. And through Mana Motuhake, our tamariki embraced the opportunity to take charge of their learning, growing confidence and pride as they mastered brand-new skills.
At Te Mahia School, we believe in opening doors to new experiences. Giving our students the chance to explore, take risks, and rise to a challenge builds not only knowledge but also resilience – something they’ll carry with them well beyond the mountain.
This ski trip wasn’t just a one-off event – it was a reflection of who we are and what we stand for. We are so proud of our students, and we can’t wait to create more opportunities like this for our amazing Te Mahia tamariki.
